In October, the Western New York Land Conservancy in East Aurora, NY installed a new Classic trailhead kiosk at the “Floating Fen” property they recently acquired.
WNYLC’s Sterwardship Director, Josh Balisteri offered, “This Classic went in at the Floating Fen preserve. This is our 7th Timber homes VT kiosk! The floating fen is a beautiful wetland complex in Chautauqua County, NY. There’s is a floating fen peat mat that the trail network we just built accesses – the fen hosts a variety of biodiversity including carnivorous sundews and blue flag iris’s. There is also a large beaver marsh complex in the property that create a lot of beautiful wetland habitat for birds and amphibians.”
