Looking for a wooden bench for your park or natural area? The Locust Bench may be a good fit. TimberHomes recently added the Locust Bench to its line of Park Structures & Kiosks. As a lower cost complement to the Boulder Bench, the Locust Bench is a much easier unit to install.
The Locust Bench comes with a pair of loose posts and a bench assembly. Having been completely assembled in the TimberHomes shop, the bench assembly is then removed from the posts for transport. Though heavy, a single bench can be carried a ways up a trail or even to the top of a mountain to be installed.
All you will need is a cordless drill, a shovel, and maybe a posthole digger. After re-installing the bench assembly to the posts, you can then install the provided 4′ of post into the holes dug by your team. The posts and bench planks are made of Black Locust. Described sometimes as “Nature’s PT (pressure treated)”, Black Locust is the most naturally rot resistant species available in the Northeastern United States. And thus, the Locust Bench should be in service at your park or trail project for a very long time.
