Boy Scout Troop 260 Installs Classic Kiosk in Suffield, CT

January 1, 2026

During the Fall of 2025, Eagle Scout Jack Ryan from Troop 260 led the effort to install a stretched Classic Kiosk in Suffield, CT.  By the looks of the pictures shared by Jack, there were a lot of volunteers there to help him to complete the job.

In Jack Ryan’s own words, “At the McClean Outdoor Education Preserve in Suffield, I built my Eagle Scout Project in the center hub of the property. The Suffield Land Conservancy cited a need for a substantial Trail Map area, and a place to sit down. I worked closely with my beneficiary to design a Trail Center. The Trail Center encompasses a custom designed Kiosk fitted to accommodate the properties needs. I coordinated with people from Troop 260 and Suffield High Schools Earth and Outing Club. The assembly process was very easy. It is doubled sided and extra wide. The Kiosk now greets park goers, giving them a spot to see the map of the property. Adjacent to the Kiosk is a custom 8 foot long picnic table to accommodate school groups. This area was excavated and is covered in a layer of gravel and defined with a nice decorative border for a clean aesthetic. The area also now serves as a Hub for Suffield High Schools outdoor portions of their curriculum.”

Thank you, Jack! Well Done!
