TimberHomes once again collaborated with Sterling Mountain Solar to erect a single bay “Open” style Solar Shelter. Quaintly nestled next to a new house in Eden, VT, the raising was an enjoyable day of sun and warmth during a Summer of almost nonstop rain.
As a timber frame, the single bay structure is comprised of two bents, each with a pair of posts, a principal rafter and main strut. Spanning the two a series of 24′ long purlins which hold up the solid 2″ Pine plank roof decking. Each side of the carport has a collection of three chains with turnbuckles which brace the structure.
