The North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier recently added a new timber framed sign along Route 12. Just squeezing the project in before the ground froze, TimberHomes cut the frame in November of 2020. A team of volunteers dug 4′ holes through rocky hardpan to provide the strength to hold up 7″ x 7″ posts. The same volunteers helped TimberHomes to successfully install the timber frame.
Designed by Wood & Wood of Waitsfield, the sign’s timber frame is made solely of Eastern White Cedar, a traditionally rot resistant fence post material. Material for the frame was milled at Authentic Log Homes in Hardwick which specializes in Cedar products.
