TimberHomes Needs Tree Forks

December 13, 2023

During the Spring of 2024, TimberHomes will be timber framing a round wood, dodecagon pavilion for the Native Lands Conservancy in Kingston, Massachusetts. To this end, TimberHomes is still looking for a handful of the needed dozen hardwood tree forks.

The project is a replica of the Flying Cloud Pavilion which TimberHomes constructed in 2014 for the Farm and Wilderness Camp in Plymouth, VT. The tree forks will be scribed and attached with mortise and tenon joints to 24′ round Spruce rafters. The rafters will meet in the center of the structure creating a reciprocating roof.

The preferred species for the project are Black Locust and White Oak, though other hardwoods are acceptable. If you are a logger or a forester in New England who could help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will be happy to discuss details and answer any questions you may have.
