As we spend more time at home, we’ve been able to check a few projects off of the home to-do list. Since we moved in a few years ago, we’ve been accessing the second floor of our garage with an extension ladder right in front of our entry door. Not a perfect solution, and not in keeping with the beautiful timber frame construction of the garage. We finally got our act together and built some heavy-duty timber stairs. The design of the stairs was strongly influenced by a recent TimberHomes project.
Normally we would have invited a few friends over to put the stairs up by hand, but since we can’t let our friends get within six feet of us, we used a come-along instead.
