TimberHomes Vermont is seeking to fill 2 temporary carpenter positions, for jobs running from mid August until end of January. The work will be general carpentry (likely no timberframing), and will probably be split between our shop in Montpelier, and a job site in Waterbury. Pay is based on experience, eligibility is not.
While professional carpentry experience is always a plus, we believe in the importance of on-the-job training, and put more value on someone’s enthusiasm to learn and contribute to the team, than on what they already know and have done.
We have been taking the corona virus pandemic very seriously from the beginning, and are committed to carefully following all of the state’s regulations and recommendations.
TimberHomes is a small, worker-owned design/build construction company with a focus on the craft of timberframing. We have a dispersed organizational structure designed to empower individuals to have authority over their own work. We try to maintain a steady flow of baked goods, and some of us talk about our feelings at work – if this sounds like a fit we would love to hear from you. People of color, queer and trans folks, and women are encouraged to apply.
