TimberHomes recently delivered 5 Mini Kiosks to Vernon Hills, Illinois which is situated between Chicago and Milwaukee. While we most often ship our smaller kiosks on common carrier to far away locations, this allowed TimberHomes’ Mike Perkins to combine the delivery with a visit to family in the Chicago area.
Our customer, the Vernon Hills Park District asked TimberHomes to modify our Mini Kiosks by making them double sided. We did this by installing a second door, a Black Cherry frame around plexiglass, to the back side of the kiosk. Mounted at the top with piano hinges. the doors sandwich a Pine tongue and groove central panel, designed for easy posting of notices. The bottom of the doors are secured with a custom stainless steel pin that passes through the Kiosk’s girt and is drilled out on either end to receive a lock.
Our Mini Kiosk is made to stand up to moisture. Its posts, girt, and header are all made of White Oak which is well known for rot resistance. Its White Pine roof boards are capped with a hemmed piece of coated roofing metal.
